At our Annual CACFP Conference, milk in the CACFP was a hot topic. Team Nutrition has published a new resource to help credit milk. We know that there are a number of operational challenges such as parent preference, allergies and simply serving numerous milk to address meal pattern requirements for varied ages. This doesn't address all of the challenges that milk presents in CACFP programs but here are some tools to help with crediting and even explaining the requirements to parents.
There is a quick visual reminder about the requirements of the meal pattern called Milk Aide
There is a new tip sheet focusing on how to credit fluid milk called Crediting Fluid Milk in Child Nutrition Programs Tip Sheet
And don't forget about the fun and interactive Milk Bingo training tool
There is an informational video, Choose the right type of milk to serve children in the CACFP which is focused on mealtimes with toddlers
CACFP Halftime: Thirty on Thursdays - Serving Milk in the CACFP
Serving Milk in the CACFP worksheet is a two page - page 1 is an informational sheet and page 2 is a worksheet to try out the information with an answer key
What is your favorite milk crediting resource?
